Welcome to Solomon Merchants

Located in the picturesque town of Albany, our store offers a wide selection of high-quality whole foods including nuts, seeds, dried fruit, muesli, grains, flours, starches, eggs, milk, teas, herbs, spices, and more.

In addition to our grocery offerings is our vibrant café, which is a favourite spot for both travellers and locals of our coastal town. We bake fresh muffins and cakes every day, and serve delicious homemade savoury dishes made with local ingredients.

History

Solomon Merchants began in 2009 in a small heritage building on Stirling Terrace, and moved to 4/21 Sanford Rd in 2015. The inside was completely renovated, and a café was added not long after. We’re proud of our history, and will continue providing wonderful products and friendly service!

Sustainability

Sustainability is an important part of our business, so we choose to source locally, provide alternatives to plastic, and buy in bulk to help reduce waste. We encourage people to bring their own bags and containers, but paper bags are available instore too, as are glass jars for our local olive oil and honey.

No Plastic!

Disposable plastic items don't biodegrade, and instead break down into tiny pieces that pollute our water sources, food, and most recently discovered, us! Only a small percentage of plastic gets recycled. The solution? To use glass, bioplastic, cardboard, paper, recycled materials, or stainless steel instead. We use these wherever we can, and provide glass jars and paper bags for your grocery shopping.
